The annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia or Umrah is an important and compulsory duty in Islam. Hajj involves circumambulating the Kaaba seven times, running between Mount Safa and Mount Marwah, and symbolically stoning the Devil in Mina, among other things. Umrah can be undertaken at any time of the year other than the Hajj season and does not require the same rituals as Hajj but still holds great religious significance as it allows Muslims to visit the holy city of Mecca.
